When a client approached me with the story of her mysterious grandfather, James Carl Morris, she had already gathered snippets of family lore, some documents from his later life, but lacked any documentation on his early years. Family lore stated that he had murdered his father at the age of 16 and fled from his home to Idaho. She wanted to know: Who were James Carl Morris’s true parents, and why was his early life so difficult to trace?

DWS requested that his family tree on his father's side be expanded. He vaguely remembered about a farm on a road named after his family. He wanted to know more about this side of the family. The research found the road in question and identified new ancestors and new family stories.
JL had taken a DNA test and wanted to understand more about her results. She was related to another DNA tester and wanted to know how she was related. The research revealed the identity of her mother! Two brothers were identified with one of them being her father. To respect their privacy, she did not pursue contacting them.
The above case studies involve living people. To maintain privacy, information that could lead to the identification of any living person has been removed.
